With his final days in office upon us the rumors are swirling around the possibility of pardons that might come down from Donald Trump in his waining hours. He has already issued some controversial pardons in the past couple of months since losing the election, but there are some big ones still floating about.
Now, sources inside the White House are suggesting that Trump will issue around 100 pardons on Tuesday. CNN reported this evening:
President Donald Trump is preparing to issue around 100 pardons and commutations on his final full day in office Tuesday, according to three people familiar with the matter, a major batch of clemency actions that includes white collar criminals, high-profile rappers and others but — as of now — is not expected to include Trump himself. The White House held a meeting on Sunday to finalize the list of pardons, two sources said.
Trump has until noon on Wednesday January 20th to issue pardons on his way out of the White House. Hopefully justice is served to the deserving and not to his political allies or families.
