With Justin Amash Leaving Congress Who Will Take Up the Libertarian Banner?

Congressman Justin Amash, the first Libertarian member of Congress expressed his intention to not run for reelection.

From Politico:

Rep. Justin Amash, the Libertarian Michigan congressman who abandoned the Republican Party after calling for President Donald Trump’s impeachment, appeared to confirm reports Thursday that he would not seek reelection to Congress.

“I love representing our community in Congress. I always will,” Amash wrote on Twitter. “This is my choice, but I’m still going to miss it. Thank you for your trust.”

With Congressman Amash riding off into the sunset who will take up the banner of Libertarians in Congress? There are a few good options and one that stands out in particular, Thomas Massie.

The Congressman from Kentucky has been a staunch ally alongside Amash for years and will now be one of the lone voice of Liberty in a chamber that is silent on the issue of freedom.

It is time for Libertarians to unite behind Massie and show our support. If we could sway Amash to the LP it won’t be hard to get Massie on board.
