Larry Sharpe holds GOP candidate’s feet to fire over gun rights, pick for Lieutenant Governor

NEW YORK, New York, May 24, 2018 – New York Gubernatorial candidate Larry Sharpe (L), has challenged GOP candidate Marc Molinaro regarding his pick for Lieutenant Governor, Julie Killian, and her positions on gun control.

As seen in her debate barely one month ago with then Senate Candidate Shelley Meyer, Killian vowed not to repeal any part of the SAFE Act, and stated she wants to ban bumpstocks, raise the age to buy to 21, and is in favor of universal background checks. In light of Molinaro’s vagueness regarding his own position on the SAFE Act, as well as his continued refusal to answer supporters’ questions for clarity, many conservative voters have balked at his LG pick. When brought to the attention of the Shooters Committee On Political Education, Inc. (SCOPE), President Tim Andrews made a plea for New York Republicans to call Molinaro’s office, stating “Julie Killian must be removed from the ticket.”

“This is no surprise after Killian received a 0% rating from the NRA and failed the 2016 ‘Political Courage Test,’ [according to ]” said Sharpe, “I have been, and will continue to be the only candidate who is consistent and principled in my position on the SAFE Act. I will implement The Office of the Repeal and The Office of the Pardon. The SAFE Act cannot continue, but it will under my opponents.”

Shortly after his initial plea with gun rights supporters, Andrews (SCOPE), relayed the following message: “He [Molinaro] told me he maintains his full support of the Second Amendment and is ardently opposed to the SAFE Act. His Lt. Governor running mate Julie Killian will be issuing a statement that she fully supports Molinaro’s Second Amendment policy including his opposition to the SAFE Act.”

This would be a complete change of direction for Killian and New York Republicans on Molinaro’s social media pages are not buying it. “I don’t believe that she suddenly changed her views just because he is supposedly pro 2A,” said one commenter. “What happens if she were to become governor? I have to question Molinaro’s sincerity on 2A to be picking a running mate that is anti-2A,” a sentiment shared by countless conservatives and gun owners across the state.

Larry Sharpe (L) is a Bronx native, a Marine Corps veteran, an entrepreneur, and a management consultant with 15 years of experience mentoring international executives, entrepreneurs & sales people. He is also a teacher, previously serving as a guest instructor for business management and leadership at institutions such as Yale University, Columbia University, Baruch College and John Jay College. He is now running for Governor of New York in order to make education more effective through innovation, reform the criminal justice system to focus on rehabilitation, and build an economy that works for all of New York State.

  1. Mr Molinaro wins and beats Coumo. within months some hooker emerges and claims he has had sex with her and was paid to be quiet. Mr Molinaro resigns to make this go away. Now Killian is governor and we are back to a liberal governor.
